Which Samsung TVs need an installer rather than a stand?
Most Samsung TVs are bought to sit on a cabinet. The models people ask us about are the ones where the weather, the wall or the sheer size makes fitting them a proper job. On Samsung's UK site today they fall into three families:
- The Terrace: a Neo QLED 4K outdoor TV in 55, 65 and 75 inch sizes, rated IP56 against rain, dust and insects. It has an anti-reflection screen, a sealed Media Bay behind thumbscrews that keeps cables and small streaming devices dry, and a built-in HDBaseT receiver, so video from equipment indoors can arrive over one structured cable.
- The Frame and The Frame Pro: TVs that show artwork when nobody is watching. Both ship with Samsung's Slim Fit Wall Mount, which holds the screen close to the wall. The 2026 Frame Pro comes in 55 to 85 inch sizes with a Wireless One Connect box that can sit up to 10 metres away, while the standard 55 and 65 inch Frame use a wired One Connect box.
- Very large screens: Neo QLED and Mini LED models at 100 inches and a Micro RGB TV at 115 inches. At that size the wall, the fixings and the route into the room all need planning before delivery day.
Why Samsung for outdoor and lifestyle screens
Samsung has a dedicated outdoor range, and The Terrace is designed for the job rather than adapted to it. A screen on a terrace faces condensation, pollen and driving rain as well as daylight, which is why our outdoor AV service specifies purpose-built screens rather than an indoor set under a roof.
Indoors, The Frame answers a brief we hear from interior designers: a drawing room or kitchen where nobody wants a black rectangle on the wall. In Art Mode it shows paintings or family photographs on a matte screen that cuts glare, and its sensors switch it to art when someone walks in and off when the room empties. Interchangeable bezels, sold separately, let the frame follow the joinery, the picture rail or the colour of the walls.
For the biggest rooms, Samsung's size range matters. A 100 or 115 inch Samsung gives a family room a cinema-scale picture without blackout blinds, which suits spaces used as much in the afternoon as at night.
Samsung Frame TV installation: flush, recessed or framed by joinery
Samsung designs The Frame to hang close to the wall on its own bracket, which is why so many people search for a Samsung Frame TV wall mount. The decisions that make it read as art are made before the bracket goes up:
- Where the One Connect box lives. Every source plugs into the box, not the screen. With a wired 55 or 65 inch Frame we run its cable inside the wall to a cupboard or the equipment rack. The Frame Pro's box can sit up to 10 metres away without a cable to the screen, but it still needs power, and we test the link through any joinery before it is closed up.
- Surface or recessed. On a new or replastered wall we can form a recess so the frame sits level with the plaster, which suits panelled and period rooms. That has to be agreed before the plasterer arrives, using the exact dimensions of the model you have chosen.
- Height and light. Pictures are usually hung higher than a TV is watched, so we agree a centre height that works for both, and position downlights so they light the wall without glancing off the screen.
- Weight for the big screens. A 100 inch Neo QLED or the 115 inch Micro RGB model needs a wall that can carry it, so we check the structure and plan the fixings with your builder.
