One system for a large family house
In a house with five or six bedrooms, the problem is rarely a lack of technology. It is too many separate apps: one for the heating, one for the lights, one for the music, another for the cameras. Control4 brings them together on one app, one remote and wall keypads, programmed around how your family actually lives. Typical requests in homes like these include:
- A goodnight button by the bed that turns off every light, sets the heating and checks the doors.
- Multi-room audio in the kitchen, garden and bedrooms, each playing its own music or all playing together for a party.
- A video door entry system and cameras you can check from your phone, joined to the same app through our smart security work.
- A cinema room or media room in a loft, extension or converted garage.
As a Platinum Control4 dealer we hold the Control4 Circle of Excellence award for 2023, 2024 and 2025, and our own in-house maintenance team supports every system after handover.
What about the pool house, garage or garden room?
Outbuildings are where a lot of good systems fall down, because Wi-Fi from the house will not reach them reliably. We run a proper cable or fibre link out to the building and install a network there, then add screens, speakers or a small cinema. It is the same approach we used on our published Thames Ditton garden room, where a dedicated fibre line runs more than 70 metres from the house. For terraces and gardens, weatherproof screens and speakers are covered on our outdoor AV page.
Flint, brick and conservation areas
The villages have a distinctive heritage. Lord Lovelace built extensively in local flint and brick, and Horsley Towers, the house he remodelled, is Grade II* listed. Effingham has had a conservation area since 1973, covering much of the village north of the A246, and there are conservation areas in East and West Horsley too, all within Guildford Borough Council's area. Inside the house our work rarely touches planning. Anything on the outside of a listed building or on a street-facing wall in a conservation area, such as cameras, external speakers or a new outbuilding, may need consent, so check with Guildford Borough Council's planning team early. We will point out anything that looks likely to need that conversation.
Who else locally has worked with us?
Our nearest published project is a few miles east: a Fetcham cinema room with a pool table and bar, with Control4 automation throughout the house. A little further west, a family in Guildford wrote about their new build: "We engaged Art of Integration for our Control4 home automation and Lutron lighting control system at our new build family home in Guildford, and the experience was excellent from start to finish." (Turning Left For Less, Google review)
East Horsley is about 8 miles from our Walton-on-Thames showroom, and Effingham a little closer. Book a showroom visit to try Control4 and our demonstration cinema, or book a free design consultation at your home.
