What your Control4 installer does
Control4 is configured with dealer software, so the value of an installation lies in the design and programming rather than the boxes. As your Control4 installer we:
- survey the house and plan the wired network Control4 depends on
- design the system around how your family uses each room, with 3D visuals before you commit
- install, programme and test every keypad, touchscreen and remote
- give you a proper introduction at handover, so you are not left with a setup guide
- support the system afterwards, and take over Control4 systems another installer put in

What a Control4 system includes
Every Control4 system is specified for its own house, but they are all built in the same layers, and it helps to know them before a quote arrives.
- The controller. A small computer in the equipment rack that holds the programming. Control4's CORE range is sized to the job: CORE 1 for small systems, CORE 3 for medium, CORE 5 for large, and the CA-10 for very large homes with hundreds of devices.
- What you touch. Engraved keypads in place of banks of switches, in-wall or tabletop touchscreens from the T4 and T5 ranges, Halo handheld remotes for the TV and music, and the Control4 app on iPhone, iPad and Android.
- The network. Keypads, touchscreens and most of the AV equipment rely on the home network, so we design it with the system. Setting up a controller needs a wired Ethernet connection.
- What it controls. Lighting, heating, TVs and projectors, multi-room music, blinds and curtains, cameras and door entry, from a pool of more than 25,000 third-party devices that Control4 quotes compatibility with.
- The services on top. The optional Control4 Connect service adds remote access, notifications and voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
A Control4 system for a single cinema room might be one controller, a remote and a touchscreen. A whole house adds keypads in every room, a network rack and more zones of audio. We choose the controller and interfaces after the survey, and check each model is sold in the UK before it goes on the specification.
