How does working on the estate differ?
The estate is run by the Wentworth Estate Roads Committee, set up under the Wentworth Estate Act 1964. It owns and maintains the roads and common areas and enforces the estate covenants. Three things follow for any project in your home:
- Two approvals, not one. The Committee's approval for works on the estate is in addition to, and independent of, anything Runnymede Borough Council requires. Internal AV work rarely needs either, but external equipment, outbuildings or garden works may, so check with the Committee and Runnymede before we specify them.
- Fixed working hours. The estate's working rules limit construction work and deliveries to 8am to 5pm on weekdays and 8am to 12 noon on Saturdays, with nothing on Sundays or public holidays. We programme our installation days around those hours.
- Vehicles and verges. Contractors cannot park on verges or leave materials on the roads, so we plan deliveries and keep our vans inside your property.
What goes into a house of this size?
Scale changes the brief. With many rooms, staff, guests and often a pool, gym or cinema, the priority is one reliable system that everyone can use without instructions. Our work here typically combines:
- A dedicated private cinema, designed in 3D first, with an acoustically transparent screen so the front speakers sit behind the picture, as in our published Oxshott cinema with its KEF THX 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos system.
- Control4 automation with Lutron lighting and blinds across the whole house, controlled from keypads, touchscreens and one app.
- Integrated security: CCTV, gate and door entry and alarms on the same app, so you can see who is at the gate from anywhere.
- Multi-room audio and video for the kitchen, terraces and pool house.
Inherited a system that no longer works?
Many large homes change hands with complex technology already installed and little documentation. Through our takeover and maintenance service we pick up systems fitted by other companies: we record how everything is wired and programmed, repair what is failing and look after it from then on. Our in-house team, led by our Technical Services Director, resolves many faults remotely, and any site visit is made by the same team that knows your system.
Who we work with
On houses like these we usually work alongside architects, interior designers and builders. Our project managers coordinate with the other trades on site, and our 3D designs give the architect and interior designer something concrete to comment on before any cable is run. We are a Platinum Control4 dealer and have won the Control4 Circle of Excellence award in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Our nearest published project is about 6 miles east: a Weybridge basement turned into a family cinema with a sports bar alongside. The estate is about 8 miles from our Walton-on-Thames showroom. Book a showroom visit to try the demonstration cinema, or book a free design consultation at your home.
