An Epsom family of Manchester United fans wanted an immersive, high end media room with a sports bar vibe where they could immerse themselves in an engaging match, game or movie.
Our client’s existing TV system failed to deliver the immersive, quality experience that they craved. Sound clarity was an issue in the space. Overall, their current setup wasn’t delivering the high end, quality experience that the family wanted.
The new, high tech media room needed to meet a variety of needs for the family. First and foremost, it had to deliver an immersive, high end cinematic experience. That meant exceptional picture quality and powerful surround sound. The advanced technology needed to be simple and intuitive to use by all.
As a family of Manchester United supporters, the space would be used to watch the highs and lows of football matches. But it would also be the place for movie nights and gaming experiences. To that end, the family wanted it to be a media room that incorporated a sports bar feel too. The aesthetic was to be modern and high tech whilst remaining cosy and inviting.
We carefully considered the design of the room and strategic placement of equipment to maximise the space and ensure the best experience. As the width of the room was limited, we positioned the seating strategically to ensure prime viewing.
The family had pointed out the poor sound clarity in the space, so this was a key issue for us to address. We incorporated acoustic panelling to enhance the sound experience. The Anthem MRX740 AV receiver with 5.1 surround sound provided precise, powerful audio with deep, impactful bass.
An 85” Sony TV delivered sharp, high contrast visuals – perfect for a nail-biting football match, movie night or gaming session.
To achieve the modern, high end aesthetic that our client desired, we implemented a recessed TV for a sleek finish. AV equipment was concealed neatly within a sophisticated storage solution for a clean aesthetic. A sports bar was positioned in the corner of the room to bring that welcoming, sporty feel that the family wanted.
So that the right ambience could be created to match the viewing experience, smart lighting controls were integrated into the room. From an intuitive control pad, the family could adjust the brightness and colour of the LED lighting as well as the AV. The addition of blackout blinds ensured total light control. These could also be adjusted via the control pad.
